Wind Energy
Humans have used wind energy for thousands of years. From ancient
Persians to the Dutch windmills who where pumping water, grinding
grain and used as a sawmill long before we thought about using them
to generate electricity.

Wind turbines.
In the first quarter of 19th century millions of wind turbines pumped
water and provided electricity to farms in North America and some of
them are still working today (think of the famous Jacobs wind generator) |
|
Grandpa's Knob.
Commercial grade wind power started in North America over
60 years ago with a wind turbine mounted on Grandpa’s Knob in
Vermont, generating power for the local utility during Second World
War.
North America’s first large-scale electricity producing wind generator,
the world's largest at the time, it could produce 1.25 MW in power.

Freedom from the power grid.
At present, small (1-2 KW) wind generators are an excellent addition
to solar cells ensuing your freedom from the power grid, or supply
the grid and get paid by your power corporation.
Small systems that are too far to connect to an electrical supply
grid can use batteries or other energy storage devices to maintain
sufficient electricity.
The possible eco-friendly alternative energy sources are;
Solar
Wind Power
Geothermal
Tides
Hydroelectric
Bio Fuel
